Introduction

Monica Johnson Insurance Agency, Inc. (“we,” “us,” “our”) runs this website. Monica Johnson is a GEICO Local Agent. Independently owned and operated by Monica Johnson Insurance Agency, Inc.

This policy covers this website only: the pages you are reading. It does not cover what happens when you call the office, email us or come in, and it does not cover GEICO. Every “Get a Free Quote” button on this site opens GEICO’s own website, which runs its own quote flow under its own privacy policy. See How we share information.

Information we collect

You do not type anything into this website. There is no quote form, no contact form, no newsletter box and no pop-up anywhere on it. There is no field for a name, an email address, a phone number, an address, a date of birth, a driver’s license, a vehicle identification number, a Social Security number or any card or bank detail, so none of those things can reach us through this site at all.

What arrives on its own. Like every website, ours receives the connection details your browser sends when it asks for a page, such as your IP address, the page you asked for and the kind of browser and device you are using. Our hosting provider keeps those ordinary server records. The map on our About page draws its map images from an outside map service, which receives your IP address when the page loads it.

Visits are also counted in aggregate, and so are presses of a few links; see Cookies and tracking.

If you telephone the office, email us, or ask GEICO for a quote after following a link from here, what you tell us then is information the agency holds, and it reached us by that route rather than through this website. This policy does not try to describe it.

How we use information

What this website receives is used for two things:

• to serve the pages you ask for, and keep them working; and
• to see, in aggregate, which pages people read and which links they press, so the site can be improved.

There is no mailing list on this website and nothing on it can add you to one. Nothing this site receives is used to build a profile of you or to decide what you are shown.

How we share information

We do not sell, rent or trade your information. Because this website collects nothing you type, there is no inquiry of yours for us to pass on. What does reach other companies is this:

• Service providers. Vercel hosts this website and provides the visitor statistics described below, so it receives the connection details your browser sends whenever it asks us for a page, including your IP address. CARTO supplies the map images on our About page and receives your IP address when your browser loads them. There are no others: no database, no mailing service and no advertising network holds anything about you on our behalf, because this website collects nothing to hold.
• GEICO. Our “Get a Free Quote” buttons open GEICO’s own website. Nothing travels with you from here, because you have typed nothing here. Anything you enter on GEICO’s site is collected by GEICO, under GEICO’s privacy policy, not this one.
• Google, for ad measurement. The agency’s ad measurement tool is off, so this website sends Google nothing for ad measurement. Your name, email address and phone number are never sent to Google, because this website never asks you for them. • If the law requires it. We may disclose information where we are required to by law, by a subpoena or court order, or by a government authority.
• If the agency changes hands. In a merger, acquisition or transfer of the business, information may pass to whoever takes it on, still subject to this policy.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not track you across other websites. It sets no advertising cookies. The cookies we set ourselves are strictly necessary and are never set for an ordinary visitor: they are the sign-in and session-timeout cookies that keep agency staff signed in to the private administration area and sign them back out again after a spell of inactivity. They are set only on that area, which you will never see.

We count page views, and presses of our quote buttons, the phone number in our footer and the links that open directions to the office, with a privacy-friendly statistics service. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, and it never receives anything you type, because there is nothing on this site to type into. What it records with a page view is the page, where you came from (including any campaign details carried in the link you followed, such as which ad or email it was in), your country, and the kind of device, browser and operating system you used; you are counted with a code the service works out from the request itself, rather than with anything kept on your device. Ad and tracker blockers will stop it, and the site works exactly the same without it.

Google ads. No Google advertising tag and no advertising cookie is loaded on this website. The agency can switch an ad measurement tool on from its own dashboard; if it does, this page says so, and the tag still does not load for a browser that sends a Global Privacy Control signal.

There are no social media trackers, no session recording and no advertising pixels on this site. Because nothing non-essential is stored on your device, there is no cookie notice here for you to accept and nothing for you to switch off.

Data retention

This website holds no record of you to keep. The ordinary server records our hosting provider makes, and the aggregate counts the statistics service keeps, are held by those companies under their own schedules. Security

This website is served over an encrypted connection, and the agency’s own administration area is reachable only by authorized staff with a sign-in.

No method of sending information over the internet, and no way of storing it, is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe information you gave the agency has been compromised, contact us using the details below.

Children’s privacy

This website is meant for adults arranging insurance and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from a child, and there is no way for a child to send us anything through this site. If you believe a child has sent the agency something, contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party links

This site links to other websites, including GEICO’s and a mapping service for directions to the office. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Read their policy before giving them personal information.

Your rights and choices

There is nothing this website has collected from you to ask about, correct or delete. For anything the agency holds because you called, wrote or asked for a quote, you can contact us to:

• ask what the agency holds about you;
• ask us to correct anything that is wrong; and
• ask us to delete it.

There is no marketing list to unsubscribe from, because this website does not create one. Use any of the contact details below. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law; ask us and we will help.

Changes to this policy

If we change how this website handles information, we change this page in the same breath and revise the “Last updated” date at the top of it. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
